A journey through Dalmatia’s inland flavors: bold, rustic, and shaped by sun, stone, and the Krka and Čikola river valleys.
The Zagora is Dalmatia’s inland – alternately rugged and fertile, unforgiving and resilient. This box brings together its most distinctive flavors: Lasin red wine, light-bodied with fine tannins and earthy notes; extra virgin olive oil, cold-pressed from olives bathed in year-round sun, fresh, slightly tart, and rich in antioxidants; and a small bottle of rakija, in one of seven herbal, fruity, or nutty varieties.
Next comes Skradin risotto, a traditional specialty once prepared only for gatherings of a hundred or more due to its exceptionally demanding method: cubes of veal rose, the finest and most prized cut of veal, cleaned of sinew, are added to red onions slowly stewed in pork fat for three to four hours until creamy, then cooked with a stock of chicken, beef, vegetables, and smoked meat for another seven to eight hours, finally seasoned with nutmeg – once available only in Skradin, thanks to its position at the crossroads of trading routes.
Alongside the Skradin risotto, you'll find gourmet duck rillettes, preserved in its own fat; fresh cheese, soft and mild, made from cow, goat, or sheep milk, selected for availability and peak freshness; and Dalmatian pršut, dry-cured in the bura wind with lightly smoky, crisp taste. To finish, wildflower honey – thick and golden, drawn from sage, mint, and rosemary – pure and unprocessed.
