The Adria Fishing Cooperative from Tribunj was founded in 2007 by a group of enthusiastic fishermen who united with a vision to revive tradition and create a stable future for their community. Today, with a fleet of four purse seiners, seven trawlers, and one multi-purpose vessel, the cooperative purchases exclusively fresh fish from the Adriatic Sea from its 12 active members. A portion of the catch is immediately hand-processed and distributed to the local culinary scene. A special focus is placed on sustainability, manual processing, and adding value to local products, thus preserving the authenticity of every fillet, every sardine, and every flavor.
In their fish markets and retail store, you can find a wide selection of fresh and processed fish—from fillets and shrimp to squid, sardines, and anchovies. The processing facility is located right by the port, just 50 meters from the unloading point, guaranteeing superior freshness and quality. Their retail shop in the center of Tribunj allows for direct sales, and their products are also distributed to restaurants and retail chains like Lidl and Metro—all with the goal of establishing the local fishing tradition as a recognizable and respected culinary story.
The Adria Fishing Cooperative is not just an economic success – it is a guardian of maritime heritage, a living example of how a small community can, through innovation, passion, and dedication, revive tradition and build a sustainable fishing future based on local identity and the natural wealth of the Adriatic.
